7 STUNNING STARWOOD PROPERTIES IN THAILAND

Many of you asked what hotels I stayed at during my two week trip to Thailand, so I'm rounding up all the amazing properties in one spot just for you! Since my husband and I are loyal SPG Platinum members, we generally stick to the Starwood Hotels & Resorts around the world during our travels. How can you turn down room upgrades, free breakfasts and complimentary gifts? They've got a fantastic loyalty program and 5,700 properties in over 110 countries! Here are my favorites from Thailand, categorized by city:

PHUKET

The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa, Phuket | SPG Category 3

Located on the exclusive east coast of Phuket, this property boasts not one, not two but three incredible infinity pools. Outstanding customer service and extremely fresh fruits are what you'll find here. We arrived in the middle of the night (~ 3am on the day of check in) and they gave us an upgraded room ready for us to settle into, shower and sleep after our 20 hour flight! The exceptional hospitality only continued during our 3 night stay in the One Bedroom Premium Suite. I loved how close this resort was to Phuket Town, which we visited during our stay to explore the culture, local markets and shopping scene.

Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort | SPG Category 4

A beautiful property from the inside and out, this gorgeous place had a pool fit for a king, right in the middle of the two buildings. But the best part? The PRIVATE BEACH, y'all. I mean seriously: #BeachGoals. The sand looked almost untouched and the sunset view while wading in the waves was unreal. My husband basically had to drag me out of the ocean on our last day here. The dining options, though limited, were pretty great! My favorite spot to eat was the restaurant on the beach — dining with your toes in the sand is an experience in and of itself!

KOH SAMUI

Le Méridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa | SPG Category 5

Our upgraded room offered pool access at our doorstep, so my idea of luxury accommodations was already looking up at check in! If you prefer a room with a private plunge pool, this is the place to splurge on one. Our Pool Access Suite offered direct access to a semi-private pool and a deck with a day bed. The ocean pier offers a breathtaking view, which was perfect for photos. Make sure to watch the sunset from the pool, located at the center of the resort — you won’t regret it!

Sheraton Samui Resort | SPG Category 4

Although I’ve already claimed my favorite property (it's the next one) in this post, this room upgrade was by far the most impressive. We were treated to a two-story loft with a living area downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. I can’t believe we only got to spend one night here, because I swear I could’ve stayed in this room all 14 nights of our trip and been happy as a clam. Two resort swimming pools to choose from plus a private stretch of Chaweng Noi Beach with sun chairs and umbrellas will give you plenty of options to relax and rejuvenate during your time in Koh Samui.

BANGKOK

Sheraton grande Sukhumvit, A Luxury Collection Hotel | SPG Category 4

Hands down, this was my favorite property in all of Thailand. Unfortunately I only got to spend one night here, but everything from the check in process to the suite room upgrade, the breakfast choices (I'm talking steak for breakfast and fresh juices pressed before your eyes), the views, the complimentary butler service and everything in between was seamless. If ever I'm in Bangkok again, there's no where else I'll stay!

The St. Regis Bangkok | SPG Category 5

We decided to treat ourselves to a night at St. Regis while in Bangkok. All rooms come with their signature St. Regis Butler Services that include beverage services (aka coffee anytime I want, around the clock), laundering and garment pressing services (which is great if you've been traveling for a long stretch of time), and packing & unpacking services. Plus, the prime location in the heart of Bangkok is a perfect reason to stay here while exploring the city. All around, a beautiful property with lovely amenities!

CHIANG MAI

Where to Stay in Thailand (in every major city)

Le Méridien Chiang Mai - SPG Category 3

Along with the St. Regis in Bangkok, this property is high up on my favorites list because of its location! This property is situated at the center of Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar. They gave us the most beautiful room upgrade (we stayed in the Executive Suite) with an incredible view! These spacious corner suites not only have a street view from the bedroom and lounge but the bathtub too! If you're a platinum member, they also host Afternoon Tea + Cake from 3-5pm and Cocktails at sunset from 6-8pm.

BAN’S DIVING RESORT

Since there aren't currently any SPG properties in Koh Tao and since we wanted to spend most of our time here diving, we chose to spend two nights at Ban's Diving Resort, located on Sairee Beach. This dive resort has been recognized as the lead dive center in the world! Basic accommodations come free on the days you dive (Note: the basic room is a fan-only, no AC room). We upgraded to their Hill Top Deluxe room with a pool view. The room was smaller than what we were used to, but was perfect for our stay since we spent most of the day underwater anyways! The beautiful infinity pool and its close proximity to many local restaurants and bars was key to our experience at Ban's.
