BEST WATER ACTIVITIES IN LOS CABOS, MEXICO

The Arch of Cabo San Lucas

When visiting a tropical destination, I immediately start by planning how many water activities I can pack into my weekend, and my recent trip to Los Cabos, Mexico was no different. With four full days at my disposal, I knew I wanted to dive into the very best that Cabo had to offer. Adventure on my mind, I set out to uncover the countless opportunities to get into the sparkling blue waters of the Baja California Peninsula!

After researching various tour companies, I came across LuxLife Vacations, a personalized luxury concierge company based in Cabo itself. Committed to providing visitors with an authentic and local experience in Cabo, LuxLife partners exclusively with trusted activity vendors to deliver incredible adventures at an affordable price. The company was timely in sending me information regarding my tour and extremely professional in answering any questions I had throughout my trip! Thanks to them, I was able to experience something new for the first time during my time in Cabo!

One of the most memorable days I spent out on the water was on a sunset sailing cruise with Cabo Sailing. I boarded a luxurious sailboat and cruised along Land’s End to see the gorgeous rock formations, the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, and some of Cabo’s most beautiful beaches from the water itself. The tour included an open bar, snacks (chips + salsa, a delicious meat + cheese platter, cookies) and breathtaking views. Watching the sun set right into the water was such a perfect way to end a relaxing day with my husband. It was my first time on a sailboat and, thanks to the friendly crew and intimate tour size of just 6 people, it was an experience I know I’ll never forget!

Whale Watching

Whale Watching in Los Cabos

If you are fortunate enough to visit Los Cabos during the winter months (December to late March), don’t miss your chance to spot Cabo’s gentle giants during their annual migration. Visiting the area to breed and give birth, the Humpback Whales were truly incredible to observe. I was lucky to catch multiple sightings as they breached and tail slapped just meters from our boat!

Snorkeling

Snorkeling tours are one of the best ways to get a good look at the fishes and coral reefs in a particular area. I took a half-day snorkeling trip to Santa Maria Bay with Pezgato Cabo and was happily greeted by an abundance of pretty fish! It was such a beautiful day to be in the water -- read all about it here!

Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving

By far, my favorite way to fully experience marine life up close is scuba diving. If you are scuba certified (or looking to get your certification), Cabo is one of the top dive destinations in Mexico! When I was in Cabo, the diving conditions were not optimal so I missed out on scuba diving during this trip. But you can bet I'll be back to dive with the whale sharks in La Paz someday!

Glass Bottom Boat Ride

Marina Dock in Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas Water Activities

Hop on a water taxi to get from the main marina to Lovers Beach or any of the beachfront restaurants in a glass bottom boat. The best way to book one of these is to choose from a variety of vendors along the marina and negotiate your way into their hearts. A unique sightseeing experience and a must-do should you decide to forgo any of the above water activity tours!
